Dear Brother America

Dear brother America,
I hope is all is now well at your end.
Sister Gauri’s cow gave birth to a calf last night.
So we are hoping that will be a good omen for all of us.
How is the hoping going at your end?
I recently read that you were hoping Pakistan will continue looking into the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.
And that your hoping had given renewed hope to our government here.
Brother, hope is such a great thing.
And since you are the big brother, your hope does wonders to our hopes here.
Talli, the village drunkard, on his way back from the country liquor bar, often shouts loudly:
“Who cares about action as long as hope is kept alive!”
Most people don’t get it.
But if you consume a few bottles of country liquor in our village, you will get it.
I did.
Why do you think we sit patiently even though Pakistan plays naughty?
Why do you think we are OK even if rockets are fired across the border?
Why do you think we stay calm even if bombs are burst in Srinagar?
Why do you think we never tire of waiting for someone else to take the action that we should rightfully take?
We do so because we have high hopes from you.
We hope you will once again scold the truants.
Or at least, once again, make some appropriate noises about hoping to scold them.
You, big brother, are the beacon of hope for the world.
Masterji says you have led by example.
He says that even after many of your people lost their jobs, companies went bankrupt and many other such money mishaps, you did not lose hope.
Rather you turned around and told the whole world that you can.
I found it truly inspiring.
Talli did too.
Well brother, if you CAN, then all is well.
Because then we can go back to hoping you will, as usual.
No?

PS: Nowadays I am very much into this Social Media thing. Basically I spend more time at Ramji’s cyber center. So I hope to write to you more often
